Strapless wedding dresses

Although strapless dresses continue to be a popular wedding dress line, with fewer hitting the catwalks, says Shelley Brown, fashion and beauty editor at The Knot. “Shoulderless styles, romantic lace sleeves and even more fancy halter and turtlenecks are slowly but surely becoming the norm.

Super sexy

Boudoir-inspired wedding dresses with sheer details, thigh slits and plunging necklines are replaced by more conservative silhouettes with taller collars, long sleeves, and even heavier, more formal fabrics.

The days of the "nude" wedding dress are numbered as brides are about to wear more modest and formal dresses.

Hi / Low

“This trend may continue in 2019, but overall it continued at least until next year,” says famous fashion designer Dalia MacPhee.

Cold shoulder

For 2019, the cold shoulder look isn't so sexy anymore, MacPhee says.

Floral Applique

The traditional look of thick flower appliques will be replaced by various laces and other alternatives will replace the look of thick flowers applied before.

Corset

"Gone are the days of corsets that leave you breathless, and mounds of fabric that make it difficult to dance," say the pros at Australian bridal brand Grace Loves Lace.

peplum

Brides might see a few of them on the catwalk, but it won't be a big trend, MacPhee says.
