When can we expect to see Sex education season 4 on netflix?
We were fortunate to receive a season of Sex education every year since it first aired on Netflix in January 2019. However, the fourth season will be the first of the series to break the streak.
Over the past few months, we've seen plenty of reports about when the show will be filmed.
Production listings as of June 2022 suggest the series begin filming in July 2022 but not wrap until at least March 2023 (That's longer than the November 2022 end date we previously reported.) Thanks to the recent reveal of promotional material, we can 100% confirm that filming is underway.
In view of the information that we know about season 4 of Sex educationwe're speculating a summer 2023 release at the earliest.
What to expect from the fourth season of Netflix?
Just like the end of each season of Sex educationWe still have a lot of questions for the next season.
Are Otis x Maeve back to normal?
Just when the couple finally admitted their feelings for each other a new romance blossomed, Maeve dropped a bombshell that she was going to the US for a few months, putting the relationship on hold for the moment.
We'll get to see what the future holds for their relationship when Maeve returns from America, but two months apart and time abroad could see a drastic change in Maeve when she returns.
Regarding Maeve's future, Emma Mackey told ELLE: "I'm thrilled that she's making new friends, opening up a bit more and being exposed to a different culture, a different world. Because she only lived in her little bubbles. How did she get out of this bubble?
independent eric
Eric is often the voice of reason for Otis and has often helped by being the show's moral compass. However, that didn't stop her from cheating on the two boyfriends she had. First, she cheated on Rahim with former thug Adam and then, while in Nigeria, she cheated on Adam with photographer Oba.
Eric broke up with Adam so he could explore his sexuality without being tied down in a relationship. It remains to be seen how Eric wants to explore his newfound confidence, but it's possible he's put Adam and Rahim on a collision course for their own relationship.
Who is Joy's real father?
With the birth of their little sister Joy, one would have thought that Otis, Jean, Ola and Jakob could live a happy family life. However, Jean received some unpleasant news while she was in the hospital, suggesting that Jakob might not be Joy's father after all.
We know that Jean had a healthy sex life before meeting Jakob and went on regular dates with Dan and Harry. And while Jean only kissed her ex-husband Rémi, was it really something else that we didn't see on screen?
We saw Dan return in Season 3, having a brief comedic moment outside the hospital joking about the possibility of the baby being his. It's between Dan and Remi who is the potential father, which is guaranteed to break Jakob's heart again.
Will Cal find a relationship?
Cal is just one of two students we know of at Moordale Academy who identify as non-binary. At the end of the season, Cal befriended Layla, another non-binary student who struggled throughout the season, preferring to follow the rules and avoid conflict, even if it means coming into conflict with his beliefs.
Layla had harmed herself, not as a form of self-harm, but she had no education in proper dress to help her appear less feminine. Thanks to Cal, Layla now has the right idea of how to help each other as they get ready for school.
Just because Cal and Layla are the only non-binary students doesn't mean they should be instantly together, but Cal made it clear to Jackson that they needed to be in a relationship where they weren't considered female. . Of all the students at the school, Cal and Layla are the ones who will understand each other the best, which could lead to a possible relationship.
The future of Moordale
Moordale students succeeded in protesting principal Hope Haddon, but perhaps too much.
The very public and proud student protest against the infamous “Sex School” has prompted the board and investors to resort to desperate measures. Hope was removed as principal of the school and the investors withdrew their funds, leaving the board with little or no choice but to sell the school.
This has left Moordale's future in serious doubt as all pupils will now be forced to find a new school to complete their secondary education.
However, there is hope. As Jackson read from his tablet, the headline of the article he was reading read, "School of Sex Inspires Nationwide Protests!" This means that if more schools across the country take the same position, the government may have to make a decision about the future of how sex education is taught in the UK, leaving the door open for Moordale. to continue.
Will Otis revive the Sex Clinic?
With Otis and Maeve reconciling and the lack of decent sex education at Moordale Academy, Otis could revive the sex clinic for unruly students who need help.
It would definitely be a great way to fill Otis' time while Maeve is in America. But with the old toilets gone, Otis must find a new "clinic" to counsel the students.

We didn't know if she would return, but thanks to new promotional material, we can confirm that Mimi Keene, the actress who plays Ruby, will return for Season 4. With Maeve in the US, will we see Ruby? and Otis are getting back together?..
Sex education Season 4 cast for two new trans characters
In November 2021, Krishna Istha (who is one of the show's writers) held a widely-shared casting call looking for two new characters to appear in season 4 who he called a "power couple".
The two new characters Netflix is looking for include:
- Abbi (18-23 years old) – Abbi is a young trans woman with the air of Winona Ryder from the 90s, confident in her gender identity. Abbi is the leader of her group and the queen bee of her university: all the girls want to be like her or be friends with her. She is sunny, magnetic, generous and loyal. When Abbi became a trans woman, her conservative parents kicked her out of the house. She currently lives with her boyfriend, Kent, whose family is much more accepting of her. Abbi was religious, but had to give up her faith when it started to hurt her sense of identity. She still considers herself “spiritual” and attends a secular, inclusive congregation that celebrates community and chosen family.
- Kent (18-23 years old) – Kent is trans-male, silly, forgetful and a great listener. He's Abbi's boyfriend, and they're the most powerful couple: they've been together for a while and are the epitome of "couple goals", everyone loves them. Kent isn't as sure about being one of the cool kids as Abbi, but he knows himself and feels pretty confident going into his senior year of college.
The new character named Joanna will be repeated in season 4
We also exclusively learned about a new character named Joanna who will appear in Season 4.
We don't know much about the new character, but she's been described as a free-spirited British woman in her XNUMXs with a sense of humor.
Several cast members do not return in season 4
In recent months, we've learned that several supporting cast members will be leaving the show and not returning for the fourth season.
Patricia Allison starred as Ola in all three seasons of Sex Education, but the actress has revealed opportunities elsewhere mean she won't be returning in season 4...
