All Campus France procedures (DAP, Non-DAP, Pre-consular) must be done via the EEF platform. The Platform has been set up to simplify your pre-registration procedures with more than 300 connected establishments, and to help you prepare your visa application.

Once you have completed your registration on the platform, you will have access to a unique identifier EEF number which allows you to follow your file.

Students residing in one of the 42 countries concerned by the “Study in France” procedure must make a specific request for registration in a higher education establishment. The EEF procedure only concerns students residing in one of the following 42 countries:

Documents to be provided for France student visa

Students wishing to study in France must apply for a student visa. This type of visa allows students to stay in France for the duration of their studies, i.e. generally 3 to 6 months for 2 to 8 year olds and 1 to 8 months for language studies. To apply for this type of visa, students must provide several documents, including: 

  • a certificate of support.
  • an identity document and/or residence permit.
  • a certificate of kinship with your guarantor (family book or birth certificate)
  • latest income tax notice.
  • last three payslips.
  • three most recent personal bank statements.

Ideally, students should also appoint a representative in France, usually a relative, who will be responsible for providing them with the necessary assistance in the event of difficulty.

How to complete the France visa application form online?

The visa application form is available on the website of the competent French embassy or consulate. This form must be completed online and printed. You must then go to the appointment made with the French embassy or consulate, with this form duly completed, your passport (valid for at least 3 months after the expected date of your return from French territory) and 2 photographs recent identities. Here are our tips for completing the Visa France form online:

  1. Last name: enter your last name as it appears on the identity page of your passport.
  2. Birth name: specify the name you bore at birth if it differs from that specified in box 1.
  3. First name(s): fill in the first name(s) listed on your passport.
  4. Date of birth: This is your date of birth in day/month/year format.
  5. Place of birth: enter the city of birth indicated on your passport.
  6. Country of birth: country in which you were born, as shown in the passport.
  7. Current nationality: be sure to indicate your nationality here, without omitting your nationality at birth if it is different.
  8. Gender: tick according to whether the visa applicant is male or female.
  9. Civil status: tick the box corresponding to your civil status. PACS or cohabitation situations must be specified by ticking the “other” box.
  10. Parental authority (for minors)/legal guardian: concerns only minors, fill in the identity of the person having parental authority over the visa applicant, or that of the legal guardian.
  11. National identity number: transcribe the number of your identity card.
  12. Type of travel document: indicate with which type of passport you will travel stay in France (most often this is an ordinary passport)
  13. Travel document number: write your passport number, in capital letters.
  14. Date of issue: enter the date on which you obtained your passport (appears on the identity page)
  15. Expiry Date: Write the date your passport is due to expire.
  16. Issued by: fill in the country that issued the passport to you.
  17. Personal data of the family member who is a national of the European Union, of theEuropean Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation: Attention, applies only if a member of your family is a national of one of the 28 Member States of the European Union (Schengen area), Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, or Switzerland.
  18. Relationship: only applicable if box 17 has been completed.
  19. Home address, applicant's e-mail address and telephone number: write your residential address, specifying the postal code, the city and the country, as well as your e-mail address and your telephone number (landline or mobile).
  20. Residence in a country other than that of your current nationality: if you live in a country different from that of your nationality, indicate the residence permit number with its expiry date.
  21. Current profession: indicate your professional activity (it must correspond to the title of your job, present on your payslips or employment contract). If you don't work, you can write "without profession".
  22. Name, address and telephone number of employer. For students, address of the educational institution: complete this box only if you have a job and have already completed box 21.
  23. Main purpose(s) of the trip: specify the planned stay within the France visa application form.
  24. Additional information on the purpose of the trip: here, it is a question of providing additional explanations to specify the reason for the trip previously informed. This box is optional.
  25. Member State(s) of main destination (and other Member States of destination, if applicable): be sure to fill in the country of destination (for example, "Metropolitan France"), otherwise if it is a DOM/TOM, it must be specified here.
  26. Member State of first entry: if you cross the Schengen area via another country before enteringto enter France, indicate which country it is.
  27. Number of entries requested: complete this box according to the number of times you expect to have to enter France during your stay (this may be a single entry, ormultiple entries ). It is also necessary to make sure to specify the dates of arrival and departure from France. It is on the basis of this information that the French Consulate of the country of origin will define the total duration of the stay as well as the validity period of the visa.
  28. Fingerprints taken previously for the purposes of a Schengen visa application: to be completed only if the applicant's fingerprints have already been collected, during a previous visa application for example. If this is the case, the date on which the fingerprints were taken must be specified. If a previous visa has been obtained, you are also asked to write down its number.
  29. Authorization to enter the country of final destination, if applicable: fill in the validity dates of the visa concerned as well as the number if this country is excluded from the Schengen area.
  30. Surname and first name of the inviting person(s) in the Member State(s). Failing this, name of one or more hotels or places of temporary accommodation in the Member State or Member States: you must indicate here the first name and family name of your French guest (in the context of private tour) or the contact details of the hotel where you will be staying (if applying for a tourist visa). Be sure to provide full addresses. The telephone number is also to be filled in, on the right side.
  31. Name and address of the organization / host company: fill in the name of the company or organization inviting you, as well as its postal address and telephone number.
  32. Travel and living expenses during your stay are funded: you have the choice between:
  • Cash
  • Travellers cheques
  • Debit card

Support for Student in France, how to do?

You must first ask your guarantor to write you a certificate of support. This certificate must prove that the guarantor supports you financially and provides accommodation for the duration of your studies. It must be accompanied by the guarantor's last 3 pay slips, the guarantor's tax notice, a photocopy of an identity document and proof of address. This proof must be legalized by the town hall closest to the domicile of the guarantor.

When to apply for a Campus France visa?

Your visa application file must be submitted to the visa service exclusively by appointment at least: 2 weeks before the date of departure for France. 4 to 6 weeks for Reunion. To obtain a student visa, you must contact the visa department of the French embassy or consulate closest to your home. What is the age limit for studying in France?

There is no age limit for studying in France, but there are conditions to be met. Indeed, you must have a sufficient level in French and be in possession of a residence permit. In addition, you must be able to justify sufficient resources for you and your family.
