How to watch the Halloween saga?

Michael Myers is a cold-blooded, masked killer from the famous 80s movie franchise, Halloween. The creators of the franchise are American director John Carpenter (he directed the first part of the film) and producer Mustafa Akkad.

1. Halloween (1978)

This first episode sees Jamie Lee Curtis in her first major role as Laurie Strode, a teenage babysitter who becomes the target of a crazed serial killer named Michael Myers.

2. Halloween (2018)

Laurie Strode is a paranoid loner obsessed with the eventual return of her attacker, Michael Myers.

Her fixation on survival has led her to distance herself from her daughter and granddaughter, but Lady Strode will find allies again when her worst fears come true.

3. Halloween Kills (2021)

Laurie spends much of her time at Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, but a mob formed by Tommy Doyle, the adult version of the boy she babysat all those years ago, wants to get rid of the Boogeyman once and for all.

Indeed, the film received mixed reviews from critics, although some fans continued to rave about it.

4. Halloween Ends (2022)

This latest entry in David Gordon Green's reboot trilogy continues the story of the previous two installments and promises to be the final showdown between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers.

Four years after Halloween Kills, it begins with Laurie living with her granddaughter and trying to finish her memoir. But things get better when a young man fakes the murder of a boy she is babysitting and the community is killed. This causes Laurie to face an evil over which she has no control.

Do Halloweens follow each other?

With franchises from the 70s and 80s still making the news in cinemas, it's becoming increasingly difficult to follow a particular saga.

Between sequels, prequels, new sequels that delete previous sequels, and even reboots and remakes, one can quickly get lost.

The Halloween saga spans 13 films. In fact, some feature films skip parts of their predecessors. Depending on the movie you are watching, there are certain times to consider.

What's the best movie for Halloween?

Halloween 1978 : It's an objective fact that John Carpenter's halloween movies are number one. These are quantifiable data set in stone.

It's no exaggeration to say that much of the genius of Halloween lies in its simplicity. Indeed, a madman with a knife returns to a town and kills innocent children.

No emotion, no regrets, no humanity. So Carpenter – aided in large part by producer Debra Hill and production designer Tommy Lee Wallace – takes that simplicity and weaponizes it, hides it in the shadows, lets it linger, sticks it in your head. like the repetitive drone of this emblematic score.

How does Halloween Kills start?

Allison's friend Cameron finds her rushing to Sheriff Hawkins' bedside. This last flashback takes us back to the hell of Haddonfield in 1978. We then discover his involvement in the events of that time and how that night hurt him. Many of the characters who survived 1978's The Night of Horror are back on the big screen with only one idea: to kill Micheal.

But the horror movie's most famous bogeyman seems to be immortal. After surviving a fire in the house in Raleigh, he continues his murderous journey with the first sequence of incredible violence that destroys an entire team of firefighters.

This new film is also the most violent and bloodiest of the entire saga. David Gordon Green proves once again that he has grasped the character of Michael Myers. It is an absolute evil, almost animal, and nothing and no one seems to be able to stop it. His mere screen presence exudes the power of a fearsome beast, further enhanced by a soundtrack composed by John Carpenter.

When is the next Halloween coming out?

Halloween's End (2022) concludes David Gordon Green's Halloween trilogy, and here's everything we know about the next horror movie that hits theaters on 14th October, 2022.

Halloween Ends is the last film in the saga

Indeed, it ties into Carpenter's original 1978 Halloween movie, unaware of everything that happened in its many sequels in the 40 years after his first series of murders, he once again escapes from the asylum.

Aside from a few key flashbacks to Halloween night 1978, the Halloween timeline takes place in 2018, the same night as the first part of Greene's trilogy.

Conclusion

After the disappointment of Halloween: Resurrection and the controversy of the Rob Zombie remake, the series has returned to its roots, with many calling it the best sequel yet.

This film also begins another new timeline for the series as it is a direct continuation of the original film, ignoring everything that followed and even destroying the concept of Laurie and Michael's relationship.

Forty years later, we see Laurie living a life devoted solely to preparing for Michael's eventual return. It turned out that she was right to prepare. The bloody and brutal sequel was a worthy sequel and now has two sequels in development.
